Q.    Upon registration, do I have to pay a deposit?
A.    Yes, each attendee must pay their registration fee and three (3) nights lodging as a deposit. The remaining balance must be paid 90 days prior to the first day of the event.

Q.    Can I cancel my registration and my lodging deposit?
A.     REGISTRATION cancellation must be confirmed in writing prior to the first day of the meeting.  A $100 registration processing fee is nonrefundable but may be applied to a future conference.  LODGING cancellation must be received in writing 90 days prior to the first day of the meeting.  After that date lodging deposits are nonrefundable. 
 

Q.    Does Tropical CE make my airline reservations, or do I need to make the appropriate travel arrangements?
A.    Each person is responsible for setting up their own travel arrangements. Tropical CE does arrange airport transfers to and from the resort.

 
Q.    Does Tropical CE offer discounts for airfare?
A.    Discounts for airfare are listed on each destination’s webpage.


Q.    Can I arrive earlier or leave later than the conference dates, and still get the hotel’s group rate?
A.    Yes.  You can arrive three days prior to the meeting date and/or depart three days after and still receive the benefits of our group rate.

 
Q.    Can I receive a tax deduction for attending this meeting?
A.    Yes.  These courses meet the requirements for CE deductibility under the Tax Reform Act.  However, we suggest you consult your own financial authority for specific interpretation.

 
Q.   Will I receive an incentive for registering early?
A.   You will receive a $100 discount off your registration if you register before each meeting’s early registration deadline.

 
Q.    Can my staff receive credit for attending?
A.    Yes.  Early registration for a para-optometric is $295 if they register by the meeting’s deadline, otherwise it will be $345.

 
Q.    Can I bring along my family or other friends?
A.    Yes.  We encourage families to attend.  Most locations are very family-friendly, with activities for children. In addition, we have many bring along friends to take advantage of our group rates and group activities that we have planned. 
 

Q.    How can I receive information on the location’s activities?
A.    Activity information will be available via the website. 
 

Q.   Will I receive COPE approved CE?
A.    Yes.

 
Q.  How do I receive my certification?
A.  A certificate will be sent to you by mail after the meeting.

 
Q.  Can I receive transcript quality (or CEE) CE?
A.  Yes. However, we must have a written request at least 90 days prior to the event.


Q.  How large are the meetings?
A.  We try to keep meetings to 75-100 attendees, so that we can maintain that personal touch.

 
Q.  Should I register now or wait until closer to the deadline?
A.  We strongly urge attendees to register early, so that you may take advantage of our discounts and also to guarantee a spot as they are limited.

 
Q.  Is it possible that a meeting would sell out before I can register?
A.  Yes.  Even though a deadline for early registration is given, it is possible that a meeting will sell out.

 
Q.  Will I hear lectures from reputable speakers?
A.  Yes.  World-renowned speakers with cutting edge topics teach our classes.

 
Q.  What is included in my registration?
A.  Tuition includes continuing education certification, program syllabus, reception and refreshments.

Q.   Are your events school sponsored, such that they meet requirements by different states (i.e. Kentucky and South Carolina)?
A.   Yes. Please call us for more details if you have questions about your individual state requirements.
